This sweet couple kicked off my summer weddings and I couldn’t have chosen a more laid-back couple to ease into this season! These two tied the knot at The Attic at Waterman’s on the beach, the same spot they met and hit things off. I love those perfect details that bring things full circle in my client’s lives.
The whole week leading up to their wedding was sunny, hot, and more like mid summer and not early May at all. But don’t ya know, Mother Nature decided to shower down some of her own love on Colleen + Dustin and give some cool, wet, and rainy weather topped off with a tornado the morning of their big day. The girls at Waterman’s quickly set up things inside while the bridal party was putting on their final touches and it truly went so smoothly and perfect. Their dream for a intimate ceremony was perfect inside their reception space overlooking the ocean and bonus — their guests stayed dry.
My favorite moment is often during the dad’s first look with the bride and this day was no exception for that moment. As Colleen turned the corner in the hotel lobby, Dad was waiting to see his daughter in her dress for the first time, veil and all the glam details and tears started flowing. Family came in from all over with the majority of their guests being from out of town and the personal details from her friend Eileen helping with wedding planning and her very own mama doing all the florals gave such a perfect intimate vibe for all of us to enjoy.
BUT the best part of the day was hands-down, when Colleen + Dustin let me sneak them out of their party, out onto the windy, misty beach for some more portraits — they killed it and made the foggy beach look like a set from a little Nicholas Sparks movie if I do say so myself.
