From maternity session to newborn session, and a few mini sessions, I’ve watched this sweet girl grow in front of my camera! I have loved seeing her go from cuddles and sleeping through sessions to running around laughing like the wild girlie she is. Thanks to Allie + Dennis for trusting me with your memories.
This sweet couple kicked off my summer weddings and I couldn’t have chosen a more laid-back couple to ease into this season! These two tied the knot at The Attic at Waterman’s on the beach, the same spot they met and hit things off. I love those perfect details that bring things full circle in my client’s lives.
The whole week leading up to their wedding was sunny, hot, and more like mid summer and not early May at all. But don’t ya know, Mother Nature decided to shower down some of her own love on Colleen + Dustin and give some cool, wet, and rainy weather topped off with a tornado the morning of their big day. The girls at Waterman’s quickly set up things inside while the bridal party was putting on their final touches and it truly went so smoothly and perfect. Their dream for a intimate ceremony was perfect inside their reception space overlooking the ocean and bonus — their guests stayed dry.
My favorite moment is often during the dad’s first look with the bride and this day was no exception for that moment. As Colleen turned the corner in the hotel lobby, Dad was waiting to see his daughter in her dress for the first time, veil and all the glam details and tears started flowing. Family came in from all over with the majority of their guests being from out of town and the personal details from her friend Eileen helping with wedding planning and her very own mama doing all the florals gave such a perfect intimate vibe for all of us to enjoy.
BUT the best part of the day was hands-down, when Colleen + Dustin let me sneak them out of their party, out onto the windy, misty beach for some more portraits — they killed it and made the foggy beach look like a set from a little Nicholas Sparks movie if I do say so myself.
“The best day ever”. Those words were the motto of Amanda and Anthony’s wedding day and displayed on sweet details throughout their reception venue. Amanda and I met over 6 years ago when we both worked for (my now, Mom-in-law) JP Photography and I fell in love with her sweet spirit and huge laugh. We would spend hours in the JP office talking about our future wedding days, browsing wedding blogs, and watching countless wedding films of complete strangers, all while we edited other couple’s wedding images. It was safe to say we both loved love. All of Amanda’s friends and family refer to her as THEE lover of love and it couldn’t be a more fitting title. Anthony (or AJ to some) is truly the perfect gentleman to complete Amanda’s love story. He pushes her to pursue her dreams, he encourages her in her passions, brings the biggest smile to her sweet face, and the love they have for each other is and was, so evident on their special day. Amanda is a photographer herself, so knowing she trusted me with the most important photographs of her life was a true honor. Amanda & AJ — I love you guys!! Congratulations on the BEST DAY EVER.
The florals by Downtown Deco were gorgeous!!A Tequila shot in memory of Amanda’s Grams during the speech … my FAVORITE Father-of-the-bride speech of ALL time. Seriously guys. It was a roller coaster of crying to laughing to crying. If medals were given… Mr. Rahe would have taken GOLD.
I loved this moment of the two mamas dancing!

Living by the beach definitely has its advantages and that sometimes means that you can stop and dip your feet in the water on the way home from the grocery store. That is totally what Elsie & I did one night this week and it was because it was such a simple, spur of the moment idea that made it all the better. I threw her swimsuit in the diaper bag just in case, and we got out and explored the beach and watched the waves roll in together. It was in that super candid, unplanned moment that I was so thankful to have my camera with me to document this little memory. THOSE are the types of memories I want to be a part of my family’s legacy and I want them to be apart of yours too.
On that note, I have a special launching today valid through June that I’m super excited to share…
BEACH SESSIONS! This is the perfect opportunity to stop at the beach one evening and hang out with your family (and me) and BE in the moment. PARTAKE in life.
Through the month of June, pricing is discounted to encourage you to totally take the leap and invest in your family’s legacy.
Swimsuits and beach attire are totally welcome, or regular styled outfits are great too!
Please note: your session doesn’t have to occur before July 1st, it simply has to be booked by then. 🙂 Email to book as soon as possible though because dates are limited. We are not holding Daddy & Me minis this year as many of you have asked, but these sessions would still be perfect for those memories of Dad with your little ones!!
Happy Friday!!!! Time to soak up the sunshine this weekend and enjoy this gorgeous weather!
